The Putnoi family has been practicing comprehensive ophthalmic care in the community since the early 1970s. Dr. Donald Putnoi, now retired, worked in the Waltham office for four decades providing compassionate care to his patients. Dr. Eric Putnoi has been providing top quality care to patients since 2001. He joined his father’s practice in 2005 and officially incorporated Putnoi Eye Care in 2012. In 2016 Dr. Eric Putnoi opened an additional practice location in Wellesley. He is board-certified in ophthalmology and is the chief ophthalmologist, cataract surgeon, and director of Putnoi Eye Care.
In the fall of 2018, the Wellesley office relocated in the same building, doubling its size, to provide care in a modern, spacious location. Currently, Dr. Putnoi balances his time between two Putnoi Eye Care office locations – Wellesley and Waltham.
Dr. Narae Ko joins Putnoi Eye Care in 2022. Both Dr. Putnoi and Dr. Ko maintain privileges at Newton Wellesley Hospital and are affiliated with the Partners Healthcare network. In addition, Dr. Putnoi and Dr. Ko utilize the surgical facilities at SURGIsite Boston (Waltham) and Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Our doctors are committed to continuing care for our long-time patients, as well as welcoming new patients to our Waltham and Wellesley Hills locations. Our physicians specialize in comprehensive and/or diabetic eye exams, the evaluation and management of cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, and other eye diseases with particular expertise in the surgical management of cataracts. In addition, Dr. Ko is a cornea specialist who also performs laser vision correction.
