Dr. Eric Putnoi is a native of Newton, MA. He has followed his father’s footsteps into the practice of ophthalmology. He attended Boston University School of Medicine where he was graduated Cum Laude and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honors Society. He completed an internship at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, followed by surgical residency training at Boston Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Putnoi has been working in private practice in the Boston suburbs since finishing training in 2005.
A comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Putnoi has unique expertise in cataract surgery as one of the first in the area to use the Femtosecond Laser and advanced technology intraocular lenses. He performs surgery at Surgisite in Waltham and at Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. Dr. Putnoi is also utilizing the latest modalities to diagnose and treat glaucoma and has increased availability for diabetic eye exams, problem visits and the evaluation and management of dry eye and macular degeneration.
Dr. Putnoi is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and locally with the New England Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Putnoi is on staff at Mass Eye and Ear, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and Surgisite Boston.
